What is an ABCe Online Profile Certificate?

The ABCe Online Profile Certificate shows ABCe audited web traffic data, alongside additional information about the visitors to a site. Visitor information can be collected by an on-site survey conducted during the same month as the ABCe audit. The survey will gather visitor demographic, lifestyle and media usage data to help deliver a fuller picture of a site’s audience. ABCe’s role is to verify the underlying research methodology.

What questions can the survey include?

The following demographics analysis is a mandatory component for all ABCe Online Profile Certificate surveys:

For consumer websites:


• Country of residency
• Age
• Gender
• Social Grade

For B2B websites:

• Job title or function
• Geographical location
• Area of industry served

The categories within each question are specified by the site owner. An ‘other’ category must be used to catch any respondents not specified within the question structure.

Site owners must ask the respondents age within the questions.

In addition, there are over 150 further questions to choose from, which may be included in the survey by the Media Owner, including questions on topics such as:
• Postal Code
• Marital Status
• ITV Region
• Media Consumption
