Our Mission
To deliver a valued stamp of trust for the media industry
As a Joint Industry Currency, we’re an independent industry-owned auditor, structured to deliver impartial and trusted data and assurance services.
Our business spans two distinct areas:
ABC Data and Assurance Services.
As a non-profit distributing organisation, value for money is built into our core, as we focus on delivering excellent services that address industry needs.
ABC Data
We release data for the UK media industry to use when trading print and digital advertising.
We work with media buyers and sellers to set impartial, industry-agreed measurement standards. The figures we publish are prepared to these standards and audited, providing a transparent count of total activity.
Assurance Services
Our audit programmes underpin a range of industry standards and bespoke requirements globally.
With a wealth of experience, our teams are expert in areas such as brand safety, data privacy, ad fraud, and TV measurement.

A Joint Industry Currency
We were the first Joint Industry Currency (JIC) to be created in the UK.
JICs are unique. We’re owned and developed by the industry - advertisers, agencies and media owners - who work in concert to deliver credible and objective trading currencies.
How we’re built and work is open to scrutiny – we’re transparent in what we do.
JIC currencies are the most robust and comprehensive datasets available and each is produced and offered at cost, delivering unrivalled value for money.
The UK Joint Industry Currencies are ABC, BARB, JICMAIL, JICPOPS, JICREG, PAMCO, RAJAR and ROUTE.
JICs have the following characteristics:
- Independently owned and run – by the industry and for the industry.
- Funding and governance include buy-side and sell-side partners.
- They allow comparable evaluation of media
- Transparent data collection and reporting methodologies are applied equally to all participants

Working Globally
We're a proud founding member of the International Federation of ABCs (IFABC).
IFABC is a global alliance of industry-sponsored organisations from 27 countries. It provides a forum for members to collaborate, share knowledge and develop solutions that enhance transparency and accountability in media.
Our Chief Executive Simon Redlich was elected as IFABC's President in 2020 and is honoured to be serving his second term.
