Deliver industry recognised assurance with a bespoke ABC audit
With a team of experts in a variety of fields, we provide personalised audit programmes which give businesses the confidence to go to market with their service, underpinned by our independent assurance.

We’ve independently audited the following client and are pleased to issue them the use of the ABC logo, the industry’s stamp of trust.
Client: Ipsos iris
“Ipsos iris is the UKOM endorsed service for the measurement of the online behaviour of audiences. It uses a hybrid methodology combining metered data from a core 10,000 single-source panel with census site-centric measurement.
Its state-of-the-art hybrid methodology combines a nationally representative UK establishment survey, a passively measured single source panel and a site-centric census measurement solution. Data science brings the Ipsos iris data together to create a synthetic data set, to ensure privacy requirements and data modelling.”
Objective:
Ipsos engaged us to independently assess Ipsos iris across three areas of their methodology, specifically:
- Verification of the systems and processes used for Ipsos iris site-centric measurement. (Jan 2024)
- Verification of the User-centric Panel Measurement. (Jan 2024)
- Verification of the end-to end processes for de-identification of personal identifiable information through to Ipsos iris’s Synthetic Data set. (Jan 2025)
Outcome:
We provided a detailed private report to Ipsos iris for each of the three areas of work, with analysis of findings, work carried out and agreed recommendations.
- Verification of the systems and processes used for Ipsos iris site-centric measurement. (Jan 2024)
Based on the work conducted and evidence reviewed, in our opinion, at the time of our audit, there were sufficient processes and controls in place to ensure that the site-centric measurement data systems work as expected and are supported. The systems used throughout the process are consistently implemented and pro-actively managed. - Verification of the User-centric Panel Measurement. (Jan 2024)
Based on the work conducted and evidence reviewed, in our opinion, at the time of our audit, there were sufficient processes and controls in place to ensure that the user-centric behavioural data is supported by the active recruitment, monitoring and management of the Ipsos iris panel. - Verification of the end-to end processes for de-identification of personal identifiable information through to Ipsos iris’s Synthetic Data set. (Jan 2025)
Based on the work conducted and evidence reviewed, in our opinion, at the time of our audit, the data collection from both the panel and the site centric measurement followed defined processes to de-identify personal data including pseudonymised data (PII) from the collected data.
Limitations:
- Verification of the systems and processes used for Ipsos iris site-centric measurement. (Jan 2024)
Out of scope was the verification of the reporting data captured or the data output and shared to the synthetic data set. - Verification of the User-centric Panel Measurement. (Jan 2024)
Out of scope of the audit was the verification of how the BBC Compass participants were recruited, monitored or maintained as Ipsos iris are not in control of this recruitment. - Verification of the end-to end processes for de-identification of personal identifiable information through to Ipsos iris’s Synthetic Data set. (Jan 2025)
Out of scope of the audit was the creation or use of the Establishment Survey and the measurement of data fusion methodologies used for Audience Modelling to create the Synthetic dataset. Our work was not designed to provide assurance on compliance to any Data Protection, Security or Privacy laws.
