The certification covers all Global’s digital channels including DAX, the world’s largest digital audio advertising platform, which gives advertisers access to an audience of 160 million people worldwide.

Mike Gordon, Global’s chief commercial officer, said: “Digital audio is less susceptible to ad fraud and has a high degree of brand safety. This certification underscores our commitment to protecting advertisers, right across our portfolio.”

An independent audit from ABC verified how DAX technology prevents fraudulent digital audio ads being served to listeners and how DAX reduces the risk of ad misplacement.

Richard Foan, JICWEBS executive chairman, said: “Companies that bring transparency to their advertising processes through independent review will increase trust in digital advertising.  Global are leading the way for digital audio with this certification.”

Richard Reeves, AOP managing director, said: “The Global announcement is a very welcome one, and is a significant step towards encouraging other players in the industry to achieve the JICWEBS certification and commit to best practice.”

The Digital Trading Standards Group from JICWEBS created the brand safety good practice principles to raise industry standards. The anti-ad fraud principles were introduced last year to tackle fraud in digital advertising.
