Rule Updates

This section details the changes to the Brand Reports (formerly Multi-Platform) Reporting Standards.

Issued September 2016
  • Event Audience (Business Media sector) - You can report a simple event audience figure on a Multi-Platform Certificate/Report. The attendance figure will comprise people that have attended (whether paying or free), with them being counted once on each day they attend.

  • Awards Seat Sales (Business Media sector) - You can report seat sales for Awards Events on a Multi-Platform Certificate/Report. Further details of attendees are not required.

Issued July 2016
  • Social Media: From periods ending June 2016 the minimum requirement for reporting Social Media is now the metric count on the last working day of the Reporting Period. You may continue to report, as an option, the metric counts on the last working day of each month and the average of these for the period.
Issued January 2015
  • Digital Products: Renamed "Digital Products - Single Sales". The requirement to give advanced notification of claiming is removed. The sales will no longer be reported by price bandings but an average price for sales in the period will be included along with the quantity sold.

  • Digital Product Licences: Renamed  "Digital Products - Subscription Licence Sales". Optional metric of seats renamed "users". Digital Product no longer needs to be hosted on subscriber's intranet or if elsehwre controlle dby log-in or password. Bundled subscriptions/licences reported separately. The number of seats/users need no longer be stated in contract but can be reported based on contractual evidence or evidence of usage/activity.

Issued July 2014 (Business Media and ROI sectors only)
  • You can now report paid licences for digital products (e.g. websites, online magazines) on the ABC Multi-Platform Certificate/Report.

Issued June 2014 (July 2014 for ROI sectors)
  • To avoid confusion over the nature of certification of Social Media metrics the rule wording has been amended to make clear that what is being reported is the Social Media Service’s provided count and testing does not involve examining how the count is compiled or the original source of the metrics included.

Issued March 2014
  • A new metric for the reporting of Talking Publications has been added.

Issued November 2013
  • The metrics (previously agreed) that can be reported on Multi-Platform Certificates/Reports have been moved from the print rulebooks to a separate Multi-Platform standards document.
