JICWEBS and TAG announce next step in fight against ad fraud

UK and US unite behind one industry standard

The UK is one giant step closer to tackling online ad fraud today as the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) and Joint Industry Committee for Web Standards (JICWEBS) announce the next stage in their partnership, with the adoption of the TAG ‘Certified Against Fraud’ programme in the UK from 1st January 2019.

National Newspaper digital edition totals now shown on front page of ABC certificates

We’re pleased to announce a design update to the front page of our National Newspaper certificates, enabling media owners to display the total number of digital editions clearly alongside their headline print figure. This change has been implemented to bring further clarity around each media brand’s total reach, as buyers are able to view a title’s print and digital edition figures ‘at a glance’.

Thirdpresence verified by ABC to JICWEBS brand safety principles

Today, Thirdpresence has been verified to the JICWEBS Digital Trading Standards Group (DTSG) Good Practice Principles by independent industry body ABC.  The aim of the Good Practice Principles is to enhance transparency in the UK digital display advertising market, ultimately giving brands greater confidence that their advertising will reach the right audience and will not be associated with content that could jeopardise brand reputation.

UK Digital Adspend grows by 15% year-on-year

UK advertisers spent £6.4bn on digital advertising in the first half of 2018, according to the latest results of the IAB UK and PwC Digital AdSpend report.


In the first six months of 2018, there has been year-on-year growth of total digital advertising spend of 15%.

Collaboration – more than the sum of the parts

Standing on the shore of Lake Windermere I’d come to the conclusion this was a really silly idea. But it was too late for that. The early morning conversations had quietened down as the 100 or so swimmers collectively realised what they’d signed up for. 10.5 miles to the other end of the lake with just their own thoughts and someone paddling alongside in a kayak. Speaking of which, I’d only met my kayaker a few minutes earlier. It was his job not just to navigate us safely down the lake and be on hand if something went badly wrong, but also to provide the practical support required; essentially calories in one form or another, and no doubt some encouragement too. I was effectively placing my trust in a complete stranger for the next few hours....
